Swami Vivekananda: Swami Vivekananda was a Hindu monk he was he main person who introduce Indian philosophy such as Vedanta and Yoga to the western world. He was one of the most influential philosophers and social reformers in his contemporary India and the most successful and influential missionaries of Vedanta to the Western world.

Real Name: Narendra Nath Datta

Date of Birth: 12th January 1863

Birth of Swami Vivekananda.....

Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 Jan 1863 at Kolkata(which is now known a calcutta) and this was celebrated as the "International Youth Day". The real name of Swami Vivekananda was Narendra Nath Datta. His father Vishwanath Datta was an altorney at the calcutta high court.His mother Bhubaneswari Devi was a devouted housewife.The progressive rational attitude of Narendra's father and the religious temperament of his mother helped Narendra to shape his thinking and personality.

Narendra was naughty and restless as a child and his parents often has difficulty in controlling him.Two aspects of his behaviour could clearly be was his devotion and compassionate nature and the other was his readyness to perform any act of courage.Narendra was interested in spirituality from a very young age. He use to meditate before the image of god's such as Shiva,Rama,Sita and Mahaver Hanuman. He was very much attracted towards the wandering ascetics and monks.

Education of Swami Vivekananda....

He acquired his preliminary knowledge in 1871,at the age of eight from Ishwar Chandra Vidayasagar Metroplitan within a short time graduation from high school from first division. Narendra entered the presidency collage of calcutta for higher studies and there he met Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

Narendra (Swami Vivekananda) Met Ramakrishna Paramahansa....

Narendra met Ramakrishna Paramahansa for the first time in november 1881.Ramakrishna ,the God-man of modern time,was born on 18 Feb 1836. he belong from a poor family.he was a great divotee of Maa Kali (Indian Godess) and consider her divine mother. he had tremedous love for Naradra and considered him as the re inarnation (Re birth) but Narendra was quit adamant. Narendra did not believe his guru first but soon he began to realize the core philosophy of hinduism. Ramakrishna put all his effort in Narandra and began transforming him but soon things turned different as his father passed away during this time Naradra was undergoing from atime spiritual crises and he was in extreme that time he was so distressed that he began questioning the existence of god he thought he should leave all this and engage his life in work to support hi family.He started questioning that why me? but god has plans and Narendra was a chosen one. Soon he realized the power of god ,the he gathered everything and left in search of god supported by Ramakrishna. Narendra begged the master(Ramakrishna Paramahansa) to teach him Meditation. The master (Ramakrishna Paramahansa) said 'god always to our sincere prayers'. I can swear that you can see God and talk with him as intensely as you see me and talk with me. Master said to Narendra that kali is the symbol of the total universe. Narendra began to worship her and now the adamant boy was turning into something big. with immense knowledge of Vedas, Upnishads, Purana, Yoga he attained the god quality. his appearance was like a god and everybody was fascinated by his intelligence. He conquered his mind and understood every thing.

Samadhi of Ramakrishna Paramahansa.....

In 1885,Ramakrishna Paramahansa was diagnosed with throat cancer and he attained his final samadhi in Aug 15,1886. He ha given Narendra everything and made Narendra the leader of new monastic order post and told him that to take care of the disciples and shoe everyone the path of salavation.

In 1887 he took the formal pledge of sannyas there by assuming new names and after that Narendra came to be known as Swami Vivekananda.After the death of Ramakrishna Narendra along with his young disciples began to lice at Barangore. life was not easy at all there but he don't care because he as lost in infinity. soon the youth of the Baranagore monastery became restless from the life of the wandering monk with no other possession except staff and begging bowl. Narendra, too wished to enjoy the peace of solitude hence he left every thing and went to explore India.

He traveled whole India and attract everyone with his charm. He walked on foot, lived on alm's and lived a life of wandering Monk. by this time he understood that the people at the large are not known from Knowned from true knowledge of religion, and the vedas, the source of the hindu culture was completely forgotten.he understood that the masses required two kinds of knowledge one which allowed them to impress their economic condition. the second which helped them to build faith and strengthen their moral sense. Then Swami Vivekananda decided to fullfill his goal of bettering the life of the masses.

Thoughts of Swami Vivekananda...

Today in this century where we are living very luxurious life sitting in the air conditioner rooms having fast food,coffee,visiting mall's and many more we can not even imagine about that time when India was ruled by the Britishers how bad the situation of India was.When our ancestors were struggling from the cruel law's and orders of Britisher's.India was not only the slave of international powers but it was also the slave of many bad thing's of our society .at that time peoples fight in the name of religion,cast discrimination was at the peak and the condition of woman was also very bad. during this Swami Vivekananda filled the self confidence in the youth of the country.

By addressing the youth of the India during the British rule Swami Vivekananda said that

"Arise Awake and Do Not Stop

Until The Goal Is Reached"

make your goal as a part of your life .live your dreams .In your mind in your nerves in every part part of your body you find your dream.this is the key of success .all the powers are inside you you do anything or everything believe in this thought that you are not weak.If you are struggling between your mind and heart then do what your heart say's .

In 1893 he travelled abroad for the first time to be a part of the world's Parliament of Religions. On 11th September 1893 Swami Vivekananda delivered his first speech in the parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago. in which he was representing Hinduism's.the learning and the culture of Vedas and Yoga. this speech created a large influence to the world . In this speech Swami Vivekananda was promoting the teaching of the Hinduism. many peoples get connected with Swami Vivekananda and influenced by him.after that he traveled in western countries like U.S and London to spread the learning and culture of Hindu Philosophy in the western countries.

Returning Back to India and Taking samadhi at the age of 39.....

Upon returning to India in 1897 he initiated Ramakrishna mission, an organization which propagated the teaching of pratica Vedenta and commenced various forms of social services in 1898 Swami Vivekananda acquiring a huge property at Belur which became a permanent abode of monastery and monastic order. the place became known as ramakrishnas math.swami vivekananda takes samadhi at Belur math, Bengal presidency British India on 4 July 1902 at the age of 39.
